Tom’s Notes – http://westlothiannotes.homestead.com
A keen walker and observer, Tom Inglis writes regular notes on the interconnections between the local environment, history, weather and wildlife. Abroad, in India and Western Australia, he has compiled a large library of wildlife slides, mainly on flowering trees and shrubs, but including the odd tiger and wild elephant.
Tom has been a member of SWT since 1972, working for several years in the [what was then] the Livingston Support Group. Its name was changed later to the West Lothian Group and Tom was its chairman for the final years. He was also, at its inception, the chairman of Hermand Birchwood, but worked simultaneously as a member of the Tailend Moss Committee updating its record plan. He worked for Livingston Development Corporation in its Architects ,Town Planning and Public Relations departments. Since retirement, and as Amenity Secretary of the West Lothian History and Amenity Society, he is consulted upon proposals involving conservation areas, listed buildings and development in environmentally sensitive areas.
